Peak 10 + ViaWest CISO, Annalea Ilg, recently launched a security blog series which covers risk assessment, security controls, security best practices and other topics to help you improve your security posture.

The fourth blog in the series is all about having familiarity with your cybersecurity risk profile. Here’s a quick snapshot of what you’ll learn in “Do You Know Your Cybersecurity Risk Profile?”:

  • A cybersecurity risk profile should outline your company’s known risks, policies and practices to guide how far you need to go, and are willing to go, to safeguard your assets and data.
  • At the most basic level, initiating building a risk profile can start with conducting information gathering on the internet by looking up your company name and reviewing the search results. The professional alternative that produces more extensive insights is to hire a consultant or solution provider to conduct penetration testing.
  • Processes that should be in place to aid you in building a risk profile, including documentation, a security assessment, and security leadership.
