Peak 10 + ViaWest CISO, Annalea Ilg, recently launched a security blog series, which covers risk assessment, security controls, security best practices and other topics to help you improve your security posture. The third blog in the series is “Assessing Security Risk at the Intersection of Assets, Threats and Vulnerabilities.” Here’s what Annalea shares on this topic:

The best first step to take in achieving a better security posture is to determine what you’re protecting by assessing your risk. Risk can be found at the intersection of assets, threats and vulnerabilities. Knowing what you’re protecting against, weaknesses, and reasonable levels of risk are just a few points that are detailed.
