Have you heard the news? Peak 10 has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Niche quadrant of the 2014 Magic Quadrant for Cloud-enabled Managed Hosting Report, North America. [1]

This is great news for Peak 10 and our partners. Peak 10 believes that inclusion in the Magic Quadrant provides validation of our capabilities and can help you determine if our services are right for your customers who are looking to migrate to the cloud.

What is the Magic Quadrant?

Research based, Gartner Magic Quadrant evaluates service providers on ‘ability to execute’ and ‘completeness of vision,’ and provides you and your customers with a visual glimpse into the competitive positioning of various providers in a specific market – in this case the Cloud-enabled Managed Hosting segment in North America – at a specific period in time. [2]

According to Gartner, the Cloud-enabled Managed Hosting segment deals “in standardized, productized hosting offerings that combine a cloud-enabled system infrastructure (CESI) platform — comprising compute, network and storage hardware — with cloud management platform software to facilitate self-service and rapid provisioning with managed services.”

The quadrants recognize Leaders, Visionaries, Niche Players, and Challengers. In a nutshell:

  • Leaders have a vision and are making it happen now, and will likely continue successfully;
  • Visionaries understand where the market is headed or can see the changes ahead;
  • Niche players successfully focus on a specific segment; and
  • Challengers execute well and are considered up-and-comers, but may not understand the direction of the market.

About the Niche Quadrant

While Niche players may not be the biggest or the most geographically diverse players, they can still offer a viable cloud solution to your customers. According to Gartner, they are “typically specialists with more focused product portfolios, or are emerging vendors.”

What does this mean for Peak 10’s partners?

Simply put, the Magic Quadrant can serve as a starting point for assessing the “fit” between Peak 10’s capabilities and your customers’ needs – ultimately providing you with another tool to help sell our services.

Peak 10 views inclusion in the Magic Quadrant as a testament to the strength of our business strategy and our ability to meet the needs of our partners, our customers, and our partners’ customers. Our capabilities continue to evolve to provide the tools and services necessary in the cloud sector, making our service portfolio easier for you to sell.

As a Niche player, Peak 10 may also be able to offer your customers some enhanced services, including the ability to offer rightsizing recommendations through its cloud portal. This capability helps your customers get the most from their cloud resources.

Recognized for our consultative approach and strong focus on regulatory compliance, Peak 10 can also tailor various IT infrastructure solutions to best meet your customers’ needs now and in the future.

Our Recovery Cloud – a Disaster Recovery as a Service (DraaS) offering – provides additional benefits to your customers, including continuous data protection for rapid recovery times and customizable RPO/RTO to meet business requirements. It also supports HIPAA- and PCI-governed environments.

Gartner’s Magic Quadrant offers a competitive snapshot of a specific market. Peak 10’s inclusion in the Cloud-enabled Managed Hosting, North America segment provides a level of validation as you assess your customers’ cloud needs, and sell the Peak 10 portfolio of services. It provides the starting block to appraise whether Peak 10 could be the right company to help your customers make the move to the cloud.
