Have you heard the news? Peak 10 has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Niche quadrant of the 2014 Magic Quadrant for Cloud-enabled Managed Hosting Report, North America.
This is great news for Peak 10 and our partners. Peak 10 believes that inclusion in the Magic Quadrant provides validation of our capabilities and can help you determine if our services are right for your customers who are looking to migrate to the cloud.
What is the Magic Quadrant?
Research based, Gartner Magic Quadrant evaluates service providers on ‘ability to execute’ and ‘completeness of vision,’ and provides you and your customers with a visual glimpse into the competitive positioning of various providers in a specific market – in this case the Cloud-enabled Managed Hosting segment in North America – at a specific period in time.
According to Gartner, the Cloud-enabled Managed Hosting segment deals “in standardized, productized hosting offerings that combine a cloud-enabled system infrastructure (CESI) platform — comprising compute, network and storage hardware — with cloud management platform software to facilitate self-service and rapid provisioning with managed services.”
The quadrants recognize Leaders, Visionaries, Niche Players, and Challengers. In a nutshell:
- Leaders have a vision and are making it happen now, and will likely continue successfully;
- Visionaries understand where the market is headed or can see the changes ahead;
- Niche players successfully focus on a specific segment; and
- Challengers execute well and are considered up-and-comers, but may not understand the direction of the market.
About the Niche Quadrant
While Niche players may not be the biggest or the most geographically diverse players, they can still offer a viable cloud solution to your customers. According to Gartner, they are “typically specialists with more focused product portfolios, or are emerging vendors.”
