New Structure Aligns Market and Customer Demands
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (November 21, 2013) – Peak 10 has aligned all commercial and demand-creation functions within a new structure to be led by tech veteran, Allen Skipper, who joined the company in 2001. As Chief Commercial Officer, Skipper will maintain a focus on top-line revenue and an enhanced customer-centric strategy. This structural change will help translate Peak 10’s history in the marketplace, operational transformation, new channel strategies, and product roadmap into growth. It also reflects Peak 10’s ongoing commitment to its corporate strategy and is a direct reflection of the company’s growth and success to date.
“With Allen now serving as our Chief Commercial Officer, we aim to increase our speed to market and focus on improving the overall experience of our customers as they make important decisions about their IT infrastructure,” said David Jones, president and CEO of Peak 10. “This new position and alignment will help us extract maximum value from our operational investments, drive efficiencies and improve our scale. And it is one more step to realizing the strategic goals that we have laid out for Peak 10.”
Leveraging more than 20 years of commercial leadership experience, Skipper will lead the company’s commercial strategy including sales, marketing, channels and customer engagement. This new structure will align complementary functions within the company, creating efficiencies, streamlined communications and ultimately benefitting customers.
“We have spent several months conducting a ‘listening campaign’ with customers and non-customers alike to gain better insight into their IT needs,” said Skipper. “The most significant feedback we’ve heard is an increasing expectation that they need a trustworthy IT partner to help them strategically leverage technology to grow their business. It’s less about providing the IT infrastructure and more about helping them with technology considerations for their future state.”
Skipper and his team are laser focused on translating customer insights into action and avoiding distractions.
“Through this learning, we have more clarity to better execute a comprehensive commercial strategy, double down and make some big bets,” Skipper added. “We are very serious about designing our go-to-market strategy around the needs of our customers and trying not to get too caught up in the zig and zag of a very noisy marketplace right now. There are enhanced product offerings, expanded channels of engagement and a stronger emphasis on insights-based marketing ahead for Peak 10.”
Skipper’s previous roles include Vice President and General Manager, Regional Vice President, and Senior Vice President of Market Operations, respectively. Prior to Peak 10, Skipper served in a variety of leadership roles within the wireless communication and application services sectors. He is a graduate of Florida State University’s College of Business. Read Skipper’s recent blog post at http://www.peak10.com/blog/post/navigating-through-the-noise .
