Managed Firewall and Intrusion Detection and Prevention System
If you require a more advanced level of security, a Managed Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (MIDPS) is integrated into the security appliance and is responsible for detecting anomalous, inappropriate or other data that may be considered unauthorized on your networks. A regular firewall is configured to allow or deny access to a particular service or host based on a set of rules. If the traffic matches an acceptable rule, it is permitted regardless of the traffic contents.
MIDPS enables the Security Operations Center to capture and inspect all traffic, regardless of whether it’s permitted or not. Based on the content of each and every packet, a safety determination is made. If it is dangerous, an alert is generated. The Security Operations Center detects, alerts to and blocks security threats including buffer overflows, stealth port scans, CGI attacks, SMB probes and NetBIOS queries, backdoors, Trojans, and Microsoft operating system and applications vulnerabilities and DDoS clients.
