CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 25, 2007) – Peak 10, the leading independent data center operator and managed services provider, has announced that Jeff Spalding, executive vice president, Market Operations, has been elected President of the University of South Florida (USF) Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Overseeing multiple strategic partnerships and Peak 10 operations in seven different markets from Florida to Virginia, Spalding has been an integral part of the company’s executive management team and is a respected leader in the data center industry. He has been actively involved in several local Charlotte service organizations such as the YMCA, United Way and Leukemia Society and has been heavily involved in the Alumni Association at USF, the institution from which he received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering.
“It’s an honor to lead the USF Alumni Association Board of Directors as we continue to help drive further enhancement of USF as a leading division I research institution,” he said, adding, “I’m proud of what our alumni have accomplished, and I’m just as proud of what our current students are contributing.”
Over 44,000 students attend USF, which is noted for, among other things, an annual summer-long hurricane studies program, funded this year in part by the National Science Foundation. Participating students will be mentored by USF faculty on research projects and participate in a seminar on hurricane research. Last year’s participants explored how to prepare readiness and recovery during natural disasters and how to help residents in the aftermath.
