Health Care Company Seeks Managed Services Expertise for IT Environment Refresh
RALEIGH, N.C. (June 30, 2010) – Peak 10 Inc., a managed services company with world-class data centers, is proud to announce one of its newest customers, Community Health, Inc., the largest hospice provider in the Carolinas. Community Health will utilize Peak 10’s Enterprise Cloud Plus offering to enhance its technology environment through a virtualized platform that has fully-managed hosting security and backup services.
“Our organization was planning a complete technology refresh which was the perfect time to engage a trusted IT solutions provider like Peak 10,” said Jonathan Williams, the IT manager of Community Health. “We were so impressed by the customized enterprise cloud solution they offered us. They took the time to flesh out the components of our existing environment and implemented the new components that we wanted to add.”
As part of Peak 10’s Enterprise Cloud Plus offering, Community Health utilizes a new dedicated cluster of Virtual Machine (VM) host servers which results in a more efficient, scalable, high-performance and cost-effective IT environment. The virtual cluster provides multiple layers of protection, availability and fault tolerance to protect applications and operating systems based on their importance to the business. The virtual cluster in many ways removes the need for server downtime when compared to a traditional server environment.
“Community Health now has a solid production environment at a fraction of the cost of a traditional server solution,” said Marilyn Finfrock, the vice president and general manager of Peak 10 Raleigh. “Community Health is utilizing Peak 10’s Enterprise Cloud Plus to improve scalability and data protection as well as access to numerous disaster recovery and business continuity options from our managed services portfolio.”
“We really enjoyed working with both the Peak 10 Raleigh team and the corporate Managed Services team as we built and transitioned to our new environment,” added Williams. “We look forward to more business interactions with the expert team from Peak 10 as we take advantage of their unique product offering. We feel confident that we’ve found a cost-effective solution that will grow with us.”
Community Health has multiple locations throughout North and South Carolina. The corporation is associated with the Community Hospice Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds to aid the crusade against life-limiting conditions. It does so by contributing to community awareness and education, scholarships, research and programs that engage in the practical ministry of indigent care while honoring those it serves and memorializing those for whom it has cared for.
