When it comes to expanding high-performance, secure data center and cloud infrastructure, Peak 10 is on a roll. We’re growing organically in three major markets – Tampa, FL; Cincinnati, OH and Alpharetta, GA. In total, we’re adding more than 85,000 square feet of data center space, with an additional 45,000 square feet in office space, in phases over the next few years. This is an exciting time for our company and mid-market customers, as we respond to demands for more colocation, cloud and supporting services.
Phase 1 expansions are now complete in both Alpharetta and Cincinnati, adding capacity of 15,000 square feet and 3,800 square feet, respectively. Branded as the “Technology City of the South,” Alpharetta and the Atlanta market in general are hotbeds of technology-driven business growth, from finance and mobility to logistics, retail and healthcare IT. With the expansion, our total in-market data center footprint is 100,000 square feet. And in Cincinnati, where we first opened in 2008, we’re now operating 27,000 square feet of top-caliber infrastructure. This complements the 25,000 square feet of data center capacity in nearby Louisville, KY.
We’ve just recently broken ground on a new 60,000 square facility in Tampa, our first data center built entirely from the ground up. The facility will offer 23,600 square feet of office and support space and 36,400 square feet of data center space, which will be built out into three separate data centers over time. The first data center (phase one) is expected to be open in early 2015. Phases two and three will come online over a five-year period. The new facility will bring Peak 10’s entire Tampa footprint to more than 129,000 square feet with three separate facilities, and Peak 10’s total Florida footprint to roughly 230,000 square feet.
These and planned future expansions, combined with GI Partners’ acquisition of Peak 10 in July, reflect a company that is poised for aggressive growth. These events are also indicative of the strong demand for our secure and compliant hybrid infrastructure solutions, cloud offerings and managed services, particularly from companies in heavily regulated industries such as finance and healthcare.
One thing these and future advancements will never change is Peak 10’s highly collaborative, customer-centric approach. Above all else, this is what differentiates our company. It is increasingly important to our customers, given the level of rapid innovation, expansion and complexity that characterizes today’s computing landscape. And, undoubtedly, it is the distinguishing competitive feature that has propelled the company to this next phase of continuing growth.
Yes, Peak 10 solutions scale and adapt to changing business and technical needs of our customers. And, yes, our products and services excel when it comes to increasing customers’ agility, lowering costs, improving performance and allowing them to focus more resources on their core business. And, of course, we are proud to offer leading-edge technologies, industry-leading compliance programs and people who set the standard of excellence. At the end of the day, however, those are only tools; we measure success only by the success of our customers.
