Peak 10 Supports Georgia’s Growing Computer Gaming Industry
GGDA and SIEGE Receive High-Availability and
Security for Web and Data Applications from Managed Services Leader
ATLANTA (May 6, 2009) – Peak 10, Inc., the leading independent
data center operator and managed services provider, announced today its support
for the local computer gaming industry by providing its services to Georgia Game
Developers Association (GGDA) and Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game
Expo (SIEGE). Peak 10’s expert team handled the migration of the organizations’
Web applications, system administrator support and databases. Peak 10 will
continue providing its reliable hosting services to both sites to support their
mission - the growth and success of the Georgia computer gaming
community. “We enjoy working with Peak 10’s dedicated team of
experts who share our enthusiasm for fostering the growth of the interactive
entertainment industry in Georgia,” said Clinton Lowe, president of GGDA and
sponsor coordinator for SIEGE. “Peak 10 allows us to focus solely on our
members, giving them the tools they need to increase their visibility within the
industry. We trust Peak 10’s premium services team and enterprise-class facility
to secure our organization’s data.”
GGDA is a nonprofit trade association
of businesses and professionals of the video and electronic game manufacturing
industry of Georgia with a shared vision of elevating the industry to a position
of international recognition as a leading contributor of industry growth and
maturity. GGDA achieves this vision by establishing and maintaining a membership
base representing at least 80 percent of all game manufacturing and associated
activities in Georgia. It also represents the concerns of the industry on all
issues that appear before state lawmakers and it promotes awareness of the
industry outside the State of Georgia to attract continued economic growth and
development.
A service of the GGDA, SIEGE has become one of the largest video game trade
shows in the Southeast and as the leading gaming and interactive conference.
SIEGE brings together students and professionals from across the region to
connect and collaborate on all things gaming. The event includes not only a job
fair but three days of keynote addresses from leading industry experts, panels,
workshops, and tournaments where SIEGE explores the connective power of games
through art, technology, and business.
“Our company has been immersed in the computer gaming industry for quite some
time and we are excited to work with these two organizations to help foster the
growth of the computer gaming industry within Georgia and beyond,” said Matt
Searfoss, vice president and general manager of Peak 10 Atlanta. “GGDA and SIEGE
can rest assured that they now have a secure and reliable IT infrastructure as
well as around-the-clock support, allowing them to focus on growing their reach
and mission.” Active in the computer gaming industry, Peak 10
offers cutting-edge virtualization services that allow businesses to run
multiple instances of their servers on a single physical box, reducing hardware
and space requirements, optimizing server utilization and providing higher
levels of availability for an organization’s IT infrastructure. Peak 10 has
leveraged this technology in customized solutions benefitting businesses in the
interactive gaming sector such as Emergent Game Technologies, a leading source
for all the game development tools required to build, test, manage and expand
interactive games. The company owns and operates data centers in nine key
markets that include Cincinnati, Ohio; Atlanta, Ga.; Raleigh and Charlotte,
N.C.; Tampa and Jacksonville, Fla.; Nashville, Tenn.; Louisville, Ky.; and
Richmond, Va. About Georgia Game Developers

SIEGE Founded in 2007, Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game
Expo (SIEGE), has already established itself as one of the largest video game
trade shows in the southeast. This year, SIEGE expects between 400 and 600
registered attendees. The Expo is a service of the Georgia Game Developers
Association, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(6) trade association. All of the proceeds
from the show directly benefit the growth of the industry. SIEGE’s staff is
composed almost entirely of volunteers who donate about 10 hours of service in
exchange for a free 3-day pass. Some of the coordinators are even compensated
with peanuts for the hundreds of hours that they spend organizing the event.
SIEGE provides a venue for professional growth and collaboration, creates
business opportunities, attracts attention from venture capital and angel
investors, and showcases our Southeastern companies. For more information, visit
