Peak 10 Deploys VMware vSphere 4; Delivers Private Cloud Infrastructure Solutions
Managed Services Leader Offers Customers Efficiency,
Flexibility, and Controlled IT Environments with Enhanced
Platform
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (August 31, 2009) – Peak 10, Inc., the
leading independent data center operator and managed services provider,
announced the deployment of VMware’s vSphere 4 platform as an enhancement to its
robust virtualization services infrastructure. vSphere 4 further enables Peak 10
customers to implement internal cloud computing environments with access to
external cloud resources, while maintaining a high level of security and
integrity. The platform solidifies Peak 10’s end-to-end
infrastructure, offering customers pools of virtualized resources that federate
between on and off-premise environments on-demand and with ease. Both large and
small organizations can achieve the primary benefits of cloud computing, as
vSphere delivers high levels of application availability, lowered cost per
application workload, and increased management tools. “IT teams
face increasing pressure to implement more cost-effective solutions for their IT
infrastructures, and because we have always offered technology solutions for
business problems, vSphere 4 helps us better support their goal,” said Monty
Blight, the vice president of managed services at Peak 10. “Our strong focus on
the security and availability of customers’ IT environments makes the vSphere 4
platform a complement to our virtualization portfolio. Many customers have
strongly expressed their reluctance to re-develop their applications for the
cloud, and vSphere 4 eliminates that issue. They can begin utilizing our secure,
private cloud to cost-effectively leverage virtualized resources, while
maintaining the integrity of their mission-critical data and applications.”
Peak 10’s deployment of VMware’s vSphere 4 platform, provides its
customers with enhanced physical features for operational efficiency including
twice as many virtual processors per virtual machine (VM), four times the
memory, three-times increase in network throughput, and additional SAN tiers
available for high-end databases. In addition, Peak 10 private cloud customers
will be able to utilize vSphere upgrade checks, virtualization health checks,
capacity planning, dedicated resource pools, integrated VirtualDR services,
dedicated and managed clusters, and hosted VMs. Key members of the
Peak 10 managed services leadership team are in San Francisco this week
attending the VMworld 2009 Conference. The annual conference brings together
industry-leading companies, like Peak 10, to experience the newest
virtualization technologies, such as vSphere, share best practices, and attend
